Shetland sheep have changed my life and touched my heart. They have brought me joy, adventure and serenity. Follow along as I live each day influenced by memories of my mighty flock of mini sheep ~ aided and abetted by "Bellamica", the English Shepherd,"Sable", my livestock guardian dog and "Hero" the rescue dog that stole my heart! You'll also meet many of the homeless dogs that I rescue and rehome as part of Bluff Country Canine Rescue.
Poor Sable, she looks like she was an excellent babysitter! Dogs are just so remarkable and their devotion is so limitless, you just have to love them! Have a wonderful day guys! Tina xo
This must be hard for everyone but you never know what the future holds. You have done so much with the sheep! Life works in mysterious ways, never say never! Sable will have buddies again:)
I actually cried reading this, she loves her flock. I so wanted to come out and see the flock one day, but it is clearly the right thing to do and it will all work out for the best in the end. Is Sable going to a new flock? Or will she be guarding grandchildren?!
Sable will be busy guarding Bella and myself! I'm sure that we'll be going for LOTS of walks as both dogs are used to running in the pastures. I'm going to check into getting both Bella & Sable involved in the therapy dog program...
I think they would both do well, in the therapy program. Sable certainly is good with the sheep. I'll miss both dogs when our sheep come here to stay. I am so sorry such talent and devotion have to be separated from the sheep, but in the long run everyone will make the adjustment.
Russ and our nephew Mark with help of our contractor will be pounding the big corner fence posts and gate posts tomorrow. We learned lots at Farm Tech Days near Marshfield WI today.
