Take off your BRA!

I just joined the Army!
The  ARMY OF WOMEN that is...

Won't you join me?

There are lots of organizations looking for the CURE for breast cancer.  The Army of Women is different.  We're looking for the CAUSE.   So that we can prevent  breast cancer from occurring in our daughters or granddaughters.  The Army of Women is looking for any woman of any age or ethnicity, with or without breast cancer,  who might be willing to participate in studies that will help researchers learn what causes breast cancer to develop.

Please check out the Army of Women  website and see if this could be something that you (or somebody you know) might be interested in participating in...

  1. My husband saw a t-shirt the other day. He really liked it. He has talked about it for 3 days now.
I don't remember exactly what it read, but it went something like this:
"Yes these are fake. My real ones tried to kill me".
    God bless. ♥

  2. I've seen that too Linda. It really is cute! I'm not sure what mine will be as I am having reconstruction (just the left side), but it's with my own tissue. They'll take fat and muscle from my tummy and rotate it(under my skin!)up to my mastectomy opening! Isn't that the grossest thing you've ever heard of?! It allows me the option of using my own tissue, instead of having something foreign in my body. My luck in the past with foreign objects in my body (elbow & pic line) has not been very good so I'm opting for this type of reconstruction. Even though it means my recovery period will be MUCH worse than if I had no reconstruction. We all have to decide which option is right for us. It's not easy!

  3. re Army: I've done several of the studies Army of Women has come out with, and I'd encourage everyone who can to do the same. They not only are studying to try to find the cause of BC, but they also are doing studies trying to improve the quality of life for women who already have BC... a worthy cause, indeed, and an opportunity for all women to get directly involved. Love the Army!

re reconstruction: you are absolutely right - we all have to decide what is right for us, because we are all unique individuals, with different needs and different reactions to things. I'm glad you are finding the right paths for YOU!!
    :)

Blessings and the best of luck - thank you for keeping us updated on your progress!

  5. THANK YOU Eileen and Michelle! Please spread the word! The more women who "join the Army", the sooner we find the cause of breast cancer. The sooner we find the cause, the sooner we can find ways to PREVENT it.

  6. I don't expect them to find A cause, but hopefully at least some of the causeS. Some women have the genetic variation that causes breast cancer; some cancers are caused by lifestyle factors like diet and smoking, and some are caused by environment toxins. Actually, a lot of risk factors for cancers HAVE been well identified; I have long been part of the Adventist Health Study conducted by Loma Linda University. I'm sure there is much to still be learned, though, and am happy to contribute however I can.

  7. Excellent points Michelle! We still need as many women as we can get to get involved. Finding the various causes of Breast Cancer will give us the weapons we need to prevent it.
