DREAM's MOM....

This is Dream's REAL Mom ~ "Bluff Country Zodiak" Isn't she beautiful? Zodiak is a black - "iset" Shetland. That means that she has white fibers growing in with her black wool that give her a frosty appearance. I think she is so striking.

This is Zodiak as a lamb. She was born in 2002. Isn't she a doll?!

Her little blaze (referred to as a "blesset" marking) was almost a perfect question mark.

Zodiak has grown up to be a beautiful (and sweet! ewe. She has given me THREE HST lambs. She is bred to Bravo for her 2007 babies and you might say I am hopeful....

I took this picture, last weekend, as my beautiful Zodiak (and a number of the other ewes!) was contentedly munching on the big tree in the girl's pasture...

Dream says....

..."It's OK, Mom! Our people Mom said she doesn't care if we chew on the big tree..."

  1. She really is a beautiful ewe, Nancy. And she has a nice look to her face as well - intelligence and a good 'Mom" rolled into one. :)

  5. I love you TOO, Bill. ;-)
Actually, Dream and Mikaela are half-sisters. Both are out of Zodiak but Mikaela is by Zorro and Dream is by Paco. I agree ~ they're both lovely girls! I'll refrain from commenting on the People Mom though.....

  6. She IS beautiful Nancy! Has she thrown any lambs that were not HST?

  7. Yes, Zodiak has had several lambs that were black with a splash of white on their heads. I know that a number of them went on to throw HST lambs when bred to spots.

  8. Nancy,
Do you have any yarn spun out of Zodiaks wool? I bet it is really interesting, would love to see that fleece spun.
