Latest NEWS FLASH...

A  Dear, blogger Friend sent me the following Emergency Medical Services update this morning.
It brings me hope...

**EMS** has introduced trained service dogs to help cut costs.*

*Canines have been used for police work, search & rescue, tracking, service dogs, and a variety of other tasks.*

*Now they're assisting EMS and doing so at a much lower cost.*

*See the example below...*

*Breathe, damn you, breathe!*

I have no idea where Tammy got this, so I am unable to give credit to it's author but it had me rolling on the floor and wiping tears from my eyes.

I must say,  Sable's been doing her best to help me in my recovery.  Although I don't always appreciate her attention!  She is considerably larger than the puppy in the above photo but was apparantely trained in the same technique...

My heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone for the kind words, thoughts, prayers and wishes for my recovery!  They really do help!  I am finally making some progress towards becoming a functional human being again.  I'm even going to try doing a couple of loads of laundry and VACUMMING today!

I suffered a significant concussion, but other than that, only minor cuts and scrapes and some aches and pains.  All are deminishing a little each day.  I am so grateful to my daughter, Pam for helping me through this difficult time, as well as my Dear Friend Katie W., who has made several  trips to come down and help in any way that she could.  I know that my Beautiful Baby Girl felt horribly frustrated that she could not be here to help her Mama but thoughts of her coming to see me in just a COUPLE OF WEEKS sure do inspire me to heal and get well as quickly as possible.

I am very blessed.

DREAM says:

"I don't see what's so funny about that puppy but I sure am happy that Mom's feeling better!  She's even going to come out and SIT with us today and TAKE PICTURES!
I LOVE having my photograph taken.  I must tidy up to look my very best.  See you soon!"

  1. Glad to hear you are on the mend Nancy! Ya know, being sore is a great excuse to knit all day. :) Amy

  2. You got me with that one - the picture was a surprise! I think Dreamer should take her responsibility as the farm boss seriously and get inside and help you while you recover!!!

    I'm glad you're getting better....

  3. Nice to know that you have folks there to give you a helping hand. I would imagine that you are feeling pretty beat up right now, hope a week finds you feeling more comfortable and ready for your daughter's visit.

Nancy, be super careful and don't try to do too much too quickly since you said you have a serious concussion. They are not things to mess with and can leave you with long term complications if you don't take care of yourself. We have had a couple hockey players on the MN Wild out recently with concussions and they are a long recovery process. One has been out since September (and tried to come back after a season ending one last year and got another/aggravated the current one). Just be careful! Not trying to scare you too much but do want you to not rush yourself.

  6. I have been thinking of you and checking back frequently to see how you are doing. Your sense of humor is in tack, definitely a great sign! :) Please continue to take it easy as you can to give your self time to heal well, it is apparent you are well loved near and far.

  7. That pic is hilarious! (And reminds me of Rocky so much!) As for my inspiring you to heal, you just take your time; i'll be home soon to help :) (PS, my prescribed medicine comes in a large bottle, red or white, the white should be refridgerated, and should be taken in one or two glass doses, in the presence of good friends, or your daughter :) )
