Oh Christmas Tree...

I managed to drag myself out of wallowing in self pity long enough to decorate my Christmas tree yesterday. I know ~ it's not even Thanksgiving yet. But I love Christmas decorations. I've got a ton of them. I spent the entire day, yesterday, putting out Christmas decorations. The kittens were a big help...

Truth be told, I'm not handling things very well. I'm withdrawing. My mind goes from total denial (nothing is going to change in my life) to total fatalism (I'll never be happy again). Intellectually, I do realize that the truth will lie somewhere in between. In the meantime, my daily thought processes are too chaotic to even attempt to share. I am proud of myself for reaching out for help when I was really feeling low. Thanks to my friends who have called me or have been there when I called them. I hope I can get back on my feet and be there for others again, one day soon...I'm suspect I've got a bit more wallowing to do first, though....

  1. Hey Nancy-
Glad to hear what you're up to...I was thinking of you...

What a beautiful tree! Were the kitties really helpers (or hellions?) Each year ours "adopts" one ornament as her own, and there's no way we can keep it on the tree, she simply won't let it rest...so we let her have it for the holidays.

How are the sheep? Do you decorate for the girls? Corny, I know, but what else does one do with last years lights?

Good for you Nancy! Such a beautiful tree...that's what it all about - what makes you feel good right now. :0) Your kitties are adorable and I'm sure they keep you smiling.

Keep your chin up - it will get better. I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but from the voice of experience, it does. Count your blessings every day, hug your kitties, your sheep and those you love. That will get you through this.

Will keep you in my thoughts.

  3. What a beautiful tree - I may have to dig out my Christmas ornaments this year - we have been gone the past few years, so I haven't put up a tree - but this year we'll be home, so maybe.

I've been thinking of you and glad to see you're "back" Did I tell you that John loved the calendar? Now he wants a HST ram -

You take care - remember, we're all here to listen - T.

    Hi Nancy,

I was so happy to see you back on line when I checked your blog today! I almost called you this afternoon--I was thinking about you and praying all week.

It sounds like you were plenty busy today! It's great Rocky has a good home and also Diamond and Cowboy! They sound like wonderful people!

Rocky is looking especially studly. As you know, he and that fine fleece of his have a special place in my heart. I'm so glad he gets to be a herd sire and hope his lambs will just ROCK!! Maybe I can buy one some day.

I spent the afternoon with my alpaca fleece, specifically Rooster, the pretty dark brown Huacaya one. It is all washed and dried now and I am combing, combing, combing. I hand-carded one card of it today, just to do a test spin. The ply is lovely but untwists easily and is, of course more slippery than Shetland wool. I also tried some of Anne and Burnell's llama and the llama you gave me. Both are very fine and soft--not quite as slippery as the alpaca, but the alpaca fiber seems stronger. I am having a GOOD time!

We will be here for Thanksgiving weekend, although I might go shopping Friday. Let's card and spin if you have time!

Wow, are your kitties cute "decorating" (or is that UNdecorating?) the tree!!!!

If you are reading your e-mail you know I have a new Grandbaby! She is absolutely lovely!!!! I took some time off work and have been helping my daughter "as needed"--it's really fun.

Russ is happy--he got the biggest buck of his long life of hunting this weekend--a true troph...

You hang in there--there is always something good waiting around the next bend, even when the road is bumpy, rocky, steep, and full of gullies. Sometimes that's what keeps me going in rough times--just waiting to see what's around the corner...
