STUPID Shepherd.....

Stupid Shepherd did not plan on the market going pfhpfbt

Stupid Shepherd thought that since a bale of hay a day had always fed her flock in the past, it would continue to do so, in SPITE of the fact that Stupid Shepherd has TWICE as many sheep as she used to...

Stupid Shepherd has plenty of hay for 12 to 15 sheep...

Unfortunately, Sutpid Shepherd has 30 sheep!

Stupid Shepherd has to sell sheep.

LOTS of sheep!

Boy sheep....

And Girl sheep...

Spotted sheep...

And solid sheep.

Stupid Shepherd is desperate

MAKE AN OFFER

DREAM says...

"Mom knows she's not really a "Stupid Shepherd" but realizes that she made some mistakes and now has to deal with them. Somebody is going to get some REAL GOOD BUYS if they're looking for a starter flock of Shetland Sheep!"

That's right, Dreamer. People can see more info on some of our friends for sale on my BREEDING STOCK FOR SALE BLOG. All prices are negotiable. Mom's gotta buy more hay....

As Promised.....
Here ya go Dreamer...

This handsome lad is Dream's son (by Black Diamond) "BLUFF COUNTRY DREAM WEAVER"Weaver is already sold and will be making his home on the East Coast (Massachusetts) later this summer. Don't worry, he'll be taking several friends (GIRLS!) along with him...

Dream's beautiful "FANTASY" is growing up to be quite the beauty! I get a kick out of the distinct difference in her fleece where it's white and where it is black.
Is this not the MOST adorable lamb face you have ever seen????? (click to enlarge)
Fantasy is hiding behind the tall grass in hopes that nobody will notice that she...is FOR SALE

While we're on the subject of 'selling'...This is "BLUFF COUNTRY BLACK DIAMOND"
Diamond is the yearling, black/krunet, son of Bravo and he is the sire of Dream's flashy twins. Diamond is also for sale!

DREAM says....
..."Mom promised me that she will only let Fantasy go live with somebody who will LOVE her as much as we do..."

THE BOYS GOTTA GO....

I came home from work yesterday, to find my two adult rams had broken out of their breeding paddocks and were trying to kill each other in the 'no-man's-land' between the breeding groups. Fortunately, they didn't get INTO each other's breeding groups but were more interested in beating the crap out of each other than in stealing each other's girls. I was SO angry, I went right up to the battling boys, grabbed them by the horns and drug them back to their rightful paddocks. I then hurled a bucket of water on Bravo, to keep him from trying to go back through the fence to get at Paco and watched it freeze into a giant ice cube. (didn't even feel bad about it!) I spent the next hour fixing fences. It is VERY cold in Minnesota right now! Bravo had ripped a couple of wires off the electric on his paddock and it looks like Paco went through the gate of his. I was able to repair both, in a relatively short time but have decided that I do not want to keep rams if I'm going to be living alone. I don't like fencing!

So...FOR SALE:
"Windswept Bravo" NASSA # S19481
Bravo is a two-year old, black & white, HST (yuglet, sokket) ram with superb conformation and a dense, intermediate fleece. He sired some gorgeous lambs for me in 2006 and is bred to 4 of my girls for 2007 lambs. I kept Bravo's black/krunet ram lamb, "Bluff Country Black Diamond" ~ champion ram lamb and reserve champion ram at the 2006 Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival and have placed him with two ewe lambs for breeding this fall. Diamond will also be for sale, as I've decided to only keep ewes. Bravo is friendly but respectful (to people ~ he hates Paco!). He is halter trained and very easy to handle. His price is $600.00

ALSO FOR SALE: "BLUFF COUNTRY APOCALYPSE" (PACO) NASSA # S16941
Paco is a coming 3 year old, moorit & white, HST (smirslet/sokket> ram with outstanding conformation, gorgeous fleece and awesome horns. He has sired many exquisite lambs for me and has been breed to four of my girls for 2007 lambs. Paco was the first place yearling ram and Grand Champion Shetland Ram at the 2005 Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival. He is a very majestic, stunning animal and makes incredible babies...With people, Paco is a lover. He comes running for scratches and wags his tail when petted. He halters beautifully and is a gem to handle. Not real fond of Bravo though.... Paco's price is $600.00

LAST BUT NOT LEAST (for today, anyway!)
"BLUFF COUNTRY BLACK DIAMOND" NASSA # S22436 Diamond is a breathtakingly beautiful, black/krunet, son of Bravo and Flash Flood. He'll throw HST spotting genetics as well as his awesome conformation and dense, soft fleece. Diamond is in with Dream and Rosie for 2007 lambs. I can't wait to see his babies! He is a delightful ram lamb. Friendly but not obnoxious. Tends to stand back and watch me work with the other sheep. He is excellent on halter and handles easily. Diamond's price is $400.00

I hope to move all three of these boys quickly. I am looking forward to just having one group of sheep to care for. MY GIRLS!!! It remains to be seen if I will even be able to keep them, but for now, I'm still hoping!

Getting to know you....

Deb Sobkowiak came over yesterday afternoon to get acquainted with the ram lamb that she purchased from me: "Bluff Country Trinity". Trinity will be moving to his new home in a couple of weeks and Deb came out to do halter lessons with him. They hit it off famously!

I decided to work with "Black Diamond" (who hasn't had a halter lesson since he was a baby!) so Deb & I took the boys into the back yard to avoid the irritation of the other ram lambs being obnoxious. Here's Deb & Trinity while my girls look on from the side paddock...

This is what Diamond thought about doing halter lessons! Notice his tongue is spotted! Diamond is out of Flash Flood and sired by Windswept Bravo. I'll be showing him at the Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival, MSSBA show, next month. Awesome ram lamb!

Diamond didn't seem to mind wearing the halter. It was actually walking, while wearing a halter that seemed a bit much for him! ;-) He stood, quite nicely and would eat cookies. But he really didn't want to move ...

In this photo, I've let go of Diamond to go take a picture of Deb and Trinity. Diamond just stood there! He didn't move!! I'm thinking: I may have to carry him into the ring, but he should stand real nice for the judge!

Blatant Advertising...

The time has come for me to start "marketing" my ram lambs. I hate selling my sheep. I wish I could keep them all! But I can't. So I try to find good homes for them where they will reach their full potential. Therefore, I've decided to start with my ram lambs. I'll post information about a different one, each day (or so), including photos, my assessment of his quality and his price. If you ~ or anyone you know of ~ are looking for a ram lamb to purchase, please contact me for more information, pictures, etc. Prices are firm.

Today's featured ram lamb is: "Bluff Country Black Diamond"

Diamond is the son of "Bluff Country Flash Flood" (white ewe with a black spot on the back of her neck ~ awesome fleece!) and "Windswept Bravo" (black & white, HST ram with super-wide horns and incredibly dense, soft fleece).
Diamond is a twin, black/krunet, ram lamb with outstanding conformation and could definitely be a 'show' ram as well as a flock sire. His price is $300.00

Diamond would make an excellent cross with several of the ewes that I have for sale. He and Zanex (black/iset ~ dam of HST) should definitely give you some gorgeous HST lambs as should he and Premonition (black/krunet ~ goes back to Phoebe, doubling up the White Diamond (incredible fleece!) lineage...

....Dream says:
..."I think Diamond is SO handsome!! I told Mom that I think she should KEEP him!"
