What are we playing for???

I had no idea how imaginative and FUNNY my readers are!

I'm going to set up a poll on Wednesday morning  and let you vote for your favorite words/definitions out of the list that I narrow it down to.  Please continue to share the letters that you see when posting a comment and the definition that you make up to go with the imaginary word that you make out of those letters,  until midnight onTuesday, 2/8.

The winner will be announced at 9pm on Wednesday evening and will get to pick out TWO bars of my homemade goat milk soap as their prize.

Choose from "plain" bars ~ like the "honey-almond" bar above.

Or fancy bars like this 'cinnamon' quilted sheep:

Or this lovely "spice" fragranced bar dedicated to the love of knitting with wool:

Our winner might prefer a heart-shaped soap for Valentine's Day:

Who could resist an "orange/clove scented, curly sheep?

You can see some of the other frangrances and options that are available in my
"Sheep Hugs & Soap Suds"  online store.

If you haven't played the GAME yet, or are unsure of the rules, check out the original post where I explained it.   You can also get a good idea of how the game is played by reading through the comments on the last three posts.  It's been a blast!

DREAM says...
"Dazzle asked me to remind you that you can enter as many times as you want but to please use a different comment for each entry.  And to be sure and keep the letters in the order that they appear in the little box.  Mom says you don't need any instructions on making up definitions because she's been cracking up in there, reading the ones that you've already been posting"

Good Luck!

Crazy! Bad news and Good news...

I'm sorry for not announcing the winner of the Silent Auction yesterday.  I have been going absolutely crazy trying to get orders filled for  "Sheep Hugs & Soap Suds".

That darn "Bubbles" takes a LONG time to make!
I shipped six orders out by Priority Mail today.

Such a nice problem to have.
;-)
Thank you to everyone who has ordered!

The "Bad News":
I didn't win the Photo Contest.

I have to admit, the photo that won IS adorable!  If I hadn't been competing in the contest, I would have voted for it.  I was disappointed to not even get honorable mention, however.
Ah, well.  Maybe next time!

The "Good News":
Congratulations to Donna Schoonover for her winning bid on the FIRST in the limited edition series of "DREAM" ~ the needle felted, soap/sheep that looks just like Dream!

I want to thank everyone who bid but most especially Donna, who's one-hundred-dollars will be put to good use!  Yes, I made it through another month!

;-)

DREAM says...

"Ah-HUM!  Don't you think you should be thanking ME?
Donna bid that because she loves ME.
Give credit where credit is due, Mom..."

Of course, Dreamer!  I am ever so grateful to you.
Always!

(and I'll be letting you out of that barn SOON!)

Cat in the Snow and Last Chance!

I fell in love with this photo when I saw it on the blog of my  cyber-friend,  John Gray ofTrelawnyd, North Wales, United Kingdom.  John writes often humorous, sometimes deeply touching tales of his daily life caring for his many animals and living in rural, Northern Wales.  He is a delight!   The name of John's blog is "Going Gently"  Check it out  to see the purpose behind this adorable kitty photo.

DREAM says...

"Better that cat, than ME!"
"Don't forget ~ today at Noon, Mom's going to announce the winning bid on the One of a Kind,  very first one in a limited edition,  needle felted sheep/soap figurine of ME!"

That's right, Dreamer.  we're down to the final hours of the Silent Auction for the first in my limited edition collection of "Dream" figurines.  There will only be ten made and sold and this figure is signed (by me) and numbered ~ #1.  Funds from this auction go to help support Bluff Country Shetlands (and Backyard Chickens) as I build my at home-business, in an attempt to earn a living ~ doing what I LOVE!

...The winning bid will be announced this afternoon...

"Birth Announcement" ...
A "new" DREAM!

After three days of hard labor, she is finally here!

Introducing the limited edition
"DREAM "  needle-felted soap!

I will only be offering ten of these.

Each will be signed and numbered.

Each will be approved by Dream, prior to shipping!

I am considering offering the very first one
on here as a "silent auction".
It could be a fundraiser for the lean days ahead until my business grows enough to keep this place going.

DREAM says...

"Heck, Mom!  You'll probably be able to pay off the mortgage with the money you'd get from auctioning of a figurine of ME!!!"

Ahhhh, right, Dreamer!

She's done:
My very first needle-felted PIG!

Meet "PORSHA"

Porsha is my first attempt at needle felting a pig over a bar of goat milk soap.

Porsha's body is felted around a big, oval shaped bar of "Lavendar' goat milk soap.  So, she smells heavenly!

I've added her to my store at  "Sheep Hugs & Soap Suds"

DREAM says...

"You have GOT to be kidding me!"
"At least Mom didn't enter any PIG pictures in the photo contest!
Don't forget to cast your vote for  the "Ewes in the Mist" photograph.
The last day to vote is Tuesday, the 30th, and I know it would make Mom really happy if you voted every day 'till then!"

"...pigs...."

What the Flock I've been up to...

I've been busy needle-felting!
I've made up a bunch of "Bubbles" and "Hugs" to fill orders from my on-line store,  "Sheep Hugs & Soap Suds".  Bubbles is the one with the curls (bubbles) on top of her head and Hugs has the  heart on her side.  They both are  needle felted around a bar of homemade goat milk soap!  Sales have been going VERY well.  I'll be mailing out a bunch of orders on Monday, so if you've ordered something from me, you can expect to receive it, this coming week.

I spent a wonderful Thanksgiving with my daughter, Pam, and her husband and boys.  While visiting with Pam & her in-laws, I finished needle-felting an adorable PIG.  It turned out so cute!  I'll post photos soon.  I have to get it listed in my store later today.  I have to think of a name for her as well.  She is also needle-felted around a bar of homemade goat milk soap.  Can you tell I'm having fun with those?
;-)

OH-CUTE!!
I just took the pork-princess's tail off of the knitting needle that I had wrapped it around to make it curl and it turned out so adorable!  I have to go put it on her...
Name suggestions are welcomed!
Pictures later!

DREAM says...

"A PIG?"
"WHY???"

Because they're CUTE, Dreamer!
You don't own the patent on cute, you know...

"Hmmpffft!"

Waiting...

Ram lambs, "Echo" (HST) and "Bear" (white)
are patiently (?) awaiting the day that they each get put in with their own group of ewes.
I must admit, they're being very good boys.

Which is precisely why I've decided to only use ram lambs for breeding and NOT keep any mature rams on my property.

For those of you who have been patiently waiting for me to add some new items to "SHEEP HUGS & SOAP SUDS", my on-line store, your wait is over:

Hugs is the newest, needle felted sheep-soap and she looks just like the primitive sheep on my logo!  Everyone knows that sheep are flock animals and you can't keep just ONE ~ so Bubbles now has Hugs to keep her company.  One thing that I have discovered about the needle-felted sheep-soap is that also make delightful air-fresheners and sachets!  The fragrant  soap, within the adorable felted sheep contains a long lasting scent that smells wonderful!

I've also added a couple of GIFT BASKETS that contain adorable stuffed bears and homemade goat milk soap!

And, last night, I made up a 'special order' of Grapefruit scented goat milk soap.

Boy!  Does THAT smell good!

Keep waiting (and watching) as I add new items to the store, almost daily.

Speaking of waiting:  I can't wait to see the results of the PHOTO CONTEST that I entered.  I hope that you're remembering to VOTE for your favorite photograph, every day!

To vote for one of my entries, which I would be OH-SO grateful for ~ since first prize is five hundred dollars ~ just click on the photo below, that you like best, and it will take you right to the place where you cast your vote!  It just takes a brief, moment of your time and increases my chances of being a winner!

Vote for your choice:

"Sheep in the Mist"

Or
"Chicken Nuggets"

I want to thank all of you who have been voting and I sincerely hope that those of you who haven't voted, WILL!

DREAM says...

"I think you're already a winner, Mom.  After all, you have ME!"

Of COURSE, Dreamer!
You are most definitely correct ~ as usual!

Soap Art ~ Meet "Bubbles"!

I thought I had finished my very first, needle-felted, SHEEP SOAP.  However, now that I've seen the photos, I think I will add eyes and a nose/mouth.

I am, however, pretty pleased with "Bubbles"!  She's the first, needle-felted, soap art that I have done and I think she is adorable.  There's no "pattern" ~ I just made her up as I went along.

She is 100% natural ~ all Shetland Wool and homemade Goat Milk Soap!

I had so much fun making her.

Once she has her eyes, nose and mouth, Bubbles will be available for purchase in my "Sheep Hugs & Soap Suds" on-line store.

I'm thinkin' I'll price her at $15.00

DREAM says...

"Fifteen dollars for a Shetland Sheep?  How embarrassing!  What I want to know is how Mom got that soap inside of Bubbles...? "

It was magic, Dreamer.
Pure Magic!

;-)
