Behinder and behinder ~
Maybe NOT...

Getting caught up on anything seems beyond my grasp at this point.  I am feeling worse than usual today and suspect I shall spend most of the time in bed.  Which my doctors, sister and daughter prefer anyway.   ;-)

I think what I may do is just make regular lamb updates with photos.  There may or may not be words to accompany the pictures but I'll try to put in enough commentary to let you know at least who the photos are of.  If you enjoy lamb photos, check back often because I may post more than once a day...I've got LOTS  of lamb pictures...

Alice's long-awaited twins:
My poor Lady!
Both of these boys are BIG!  I'd say each one is close to or over 8 pounds!
Look at the huge horn buds on "Tanqueray"

He also has the tan stockings and tail (phaeomelanin) as does Godiva's little white girl.  This must come from the Sire  (BC Polar Bear) as I've never had a white lamb born with it before.

I can't even imagine what a WHITE Alice son will grow up to look like!

But I'll bet it's going to be GOOD!

The first time I saw him, "Don Perignon" almost took my breath away!  Even from a distance, it was obvious that this lamb is Ag (the gene which causes a black lamb to turn grey or a morrit lamb to turn musket).  I was praying that this incredible lamb ~ who, still covered with birthing fluids, had such a presence and air of elegance and regality around him ~  was a black based girl.

It's hard to be too disappointed when one has a ram lamb this awesome!  I've never had an Ag lamb born showing so much of the mature coloring but it sure is beautiful.

Don Perignon meeting  "Razz Ma Taz"

His conformation is incredible!
I should not be surprised by this ~ seeing he is an Alice ram lamb ~ but I am absolutely in awe of this guy.

I think that Alice agrees:

Random Ramblings...

Last weekend it was 80 degrees and we had tornadoes.

Today, it is snowing.
But there will be NO PICTURES  of that.

It is Spring.

The grass is slowly  turning green.

Speaking of slow...

The "Alice Watch" is under way.

It's been so warm that some of the girls are starting to roo!

Dream actually seemed to enjoy me gently 'plucking' the loose wool from her back and shoulder.

Everyone's just hanging out.
Relaxing.

And getting fat.

I start Physical Therapy on Monday.
I'm NOT looking forward to that!

I need to sell the Piggles.

Has anyone ever had a "Stereotactic-guided Core Needle  (breast) Biopsy"?  It appears that I need to have one.  I'm not as concerned about the actual procedure as I am about discomfort afterwards.  The material the doctor sent me home with makes it sound like I'm going to be pretty sore for up to several weeks!

Like I haven't had enough pain already...

"We'll get you through it, Mom."

You always do, Dreamer.
You always do.

"ALICE WATCH" 2011

DREAM says...

"So, what's the point?"

The point is, my Dear Dreamer, Alice ~ who gave me triplets last year, unlike you who gave me NO lambs ~ is clearly getting ready to lamb again.  I'd say in another week or so...

"Show off!"

The TENTH annual Alice Watch...

It's here!
The tenth (and final ?) annual "Alice Watch"

Thank Heaven there is something bright and cheery to look foorward to because the dull, drab greys and browns of early Spring are really getting to me!

I had 35 bales of lovely, green alfalfa hay delivered yesterday.  We're into the final countdown before lambing begins in the Bluff Country.

Alice & her daughter Destiny

Alice was in Polar Bear's breeding group so could lamb anytime after mid-April.

Thi will probably be my beautiful lady's last year lambing.  She's eleven years old now and I just want to give her the best care that I possibly can.

She had triplets again last year and I'm thinkin twins this year.  I'm hoping for a beautiful,  grey
ewe lamb!  Of course, with Alice, as with all of my girls, first and foremost, I'm praying for healthy moms and babies...

DREAM says...

"I may even chip in a lamb or two myself this year!  Lord knows, it was sure hard to get ino a photo last year..."
