and I have to go to WORK today.....

"Miss Destiny, can Shaela and Dusty come out to play?"

"We'll be real good. I promise!"

Let the games begin!

"ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz!"

The First Ewe Lambs of 2009...

I'm still waiting on Zodiak and Bella Luna. In the meantime, I thought I'd post some photos of the lovely little girls that we have so far. Tomorrow, I'll post the boys. (OR any new lambs!) MOST of these lambs will be for sale....

The first ewe lamb born in the Bluff Country this year was:
"BLUFF COUNTRY GOLD RUSH"
(Bluff Country Zaria *Shaela/HST* X Kimberwood Hunter *Mioget/HST* )

Isn't she stunning???

The next little HEART STEALER was:

"BLUFF COUNTRY SHAELA"
Shaela/krunet
(Bluff Country Destiny (Alice daughter)*Shaela/krunet) X Kimberwood Hunter)
Her name stems from the fact that since her dam is modified (Shaela) and her sire is modified (Mioget/HST), she will most likely be Shaela, herself. Plus, I like the name! Shaela is my friendliest ewe lamb. Much to her dam's dismay, she comes running up to me for lovin'.

But always runs back to mom when Destiny calls...

The first lambs that I was home to witness being born were Godiva's beautiful twins...

"BLUFF COUNTRY RAPUNZEL"
(until Terry decides on the name she wants)
Mioget/krunet

*Bluff Country Godiva (fawn) X Kimberwood Hunter (mioget/HST)*

and "BLUFF COUNTRY FLASH DANCE"
(who's twin sister keeps hogging all the camera shots!)

As of this morning, Last, but certainly not Least goes to:

"BLUFF COUNTRY DAZZLE"
Mioget & white FLECKET
(Bluff Country Zest (moorit) X Kimberwood Hunter (mioget/HST)
NOT FOR SALE!

ZEST comes through with some RAZZLE - DAZZLE...

I got home from work shortly after 11 o'clock last night to find Zest, with this Dazzling set of twins! Meet "Bluff Country Razzle"(moorit ram lamb ~ if I were naming ram lambs!) and "Bluff Country Dazzle" (mioget/FLECKET ewe lamb).

See the difference in their color?
Dazzle has a "moon spot" on her right shoulder ...

and the cutest little tail...

and she's SUPER FRIENDLY!!! OMG. I'm in love with a Flecket.

Razz is a handsome, square, krunet ram lamb with level topline and very square set legs. Both look like they're going to lean towards Zest's more single-coated type fleece.

So, what do you think, Linda & Pete???

She did good, huh?

Four down and two to go...

;-)

Zaria, Destiny and Godiva's lambs...

Yes, Zaria went first. (on Saturday morning, while I was out of town and after I promised Terry that no one would lamb while I was gone!) With twin (almost) HST lambs! The ewe lamb will be mioget & white. Her fleece is uber crimpy. She has little, white anklets. Her facial markings are smirslet and she has the tiniest bit of white on the tip of her tail! :-) I'm naming her "Bluff Country Gold Rush" (but calling her Maggie May).

Maggie's twin brother is a bit of a mystery. He will most likely be Shaela and white. He has a little bit of white that extends onto his body so I won't "officially" (as if there WAS such a thing with HST) classify him as HST. But he's mighty close!! I read through the NASSA markings list and really don't see any that describe such a small amount of white. Whatever he is, he's stunning! Conformation looks great and he obviously inherited his dam's yummy fleece! As much as I've vowed not to name ram lambs this year, I'm calling him "Bluff Country Eureka"!

While I was flying home, on Sunday morning, my beautiful Destiny gave birth to her first lambs: twin black ram & ewe lambs. I'm expecting more than a few of these lovely solid color with a splash of white on their heads lambs this year. I only bred six ewes and five of them are solid color (but carry HST genetics). I'm calling the little krunet girl: Bluff Country Shaela" and if I were naming ram lambs, I'd call the little, smirslet boy: "Bluff Country Dust in the Wind" ~ "Dusty" ~ but, of course, I'm not naming ram lambs...

Godiva at least had the courtesy of waiting until I was home, on Monday, to have her beautiful, twin EWE lambs!

I'm thinking that "Bluff Country Flash Dancer" (she's Flash's granddaughter) is a moorit and white HsT and her SWEET sister is mioget! Both beautiful girls! I've been calling the mioget girl "Bluff Country Rapunzel" (her dam is Godiva) but that will be Terry's choice since she owns Godiva...

I have so many more pictures that I want to post but I have to get ready for work and I'm pretty sure that Zest is in labor.

Then again, some of you may already know that I was pretty sure that Zest was in labor ~ yesterday!!

California with my Beautiful Baby Girl...

Fisherman's Wharf

Sea Lions!
We spent the day on Saturday driving along the California coastline. It was magnificent. My Beautiful Baby Girl has just completed (with honors!) a grueling year and half of school at the "Defense Language Institute" in Monterey, California. Final Exams were Tuesday and Wednesday last week and Katie got the results on Thursday (her birthday!) ~ she passed. The Presidio is one of the toughest schools in the WORLD and I am slightly proud of my girl. Actually, I am very proud of both of my girls AND of my son ~ but that's a story for another day...

A brief respite from our drive for a little Wine Tasting!

The time went much too fast but I had to rush home to see my new lambs!!

Thousands of Miles, My BBG, Three Days, Four Lambs, a Dead Car and a Ewe in Labor...

;-)

Oh yes, I almost forgot ~ my camera batteries died....

More tomorrow!!!

Leaving On a Jet Plane....

I turned the bred ewes out on fresh pasture. Lambs will be arriving next week!

I'll be home Sunday evening.

All is well in the Bluff Country...

Have a wonderful weekend, Everyone!!
