I'm sick. VERY sick.

I  want to let everyone know why I've gone quiet over here in the Bluff Country.
It seems I've caught some kind of 'bug'.  It has totally wiped me out.  So much so that I couldn't even drag myself out to feed my animals on Friday.  I spent the whole day in bed yesterday too and am very dizzy when I do get up.  I was so worried about all my animals that I forced myself to feed the sheep & pigs yesterday afternoon.  Unfortunately, I was so weak and dizzy and I almost passed out, so the chickens did not get fed, once again.

Everything hurts.  My head feels like it's going to explode and when I cough, it's as if someone smashes a sledge hammer into my head.  My neck, shoulders, arms, ribs, back, hips and legs.  Although I sleep all day and night, it is not a restful sleep because I roll over to change positions every five minutes.  Of course it hurts when I roll over, so it wakes me up...

I figure I've got to start feeling better soon.  I'm hoping my sister can come out today to feed and water all the animals.   Please don't tell me to go to the doctor.

I'm too SICK to go to the doctor...

  1. Well, you need chicken soup (Jewish penicillin my Granny used to call it). And oranges, orange juice or vitamin C, however you can get it. When my hubby feels like you do, he takes lots of hot baths.
Boil water for steam. It may or may not help.
If you have it more than 10 days, you will need to see a doctor as it may be an infection. Right now it sounds like some sort of flu. :(
    *hugs*
Hope you feel better, soon! ♥

  5. Listen Sicky, what you need is a tall shot of whiskey, a spoonful of vinegar and one raw egg!
I don't really know if that will work, but it would make you feel way worse than how you feel now, so kind of, in some respect it would make you feel better because you surely wouldn't feel as bad as you would feel after that.
    Get it?
Let me know how it goes :)

that darn bell has my cats going a little nutsy. Did Penny come out? That comment about the whiskey might actually work. Just got back from Jen's and my 4 year old grand daughter had the same thing. Lots of coughing!!!! I am sure I will have it in about 3 days! Keep us posted!

  10. I know you feel worse about your critters than you do about yourself, and the worrying isn't helping you get well. Your sister, Katie, or any neighbors? Church friends? Someone needs to come to your rescue!!!

  14. Thank you Katie!!! This Katie wishes like crazy i could help out, but if my aunt can't make it up, it really makes me feel better that mom has an amazing friend like you!!

And poor mama, from what ive seen of facebook lately, there's is something nasty like this going around up your way. So, no I won't tell you to go to the doctor. He'll tell you what you already know. You have to flu. I agree with your friends, tons of fluids and vitamin c, and if your not better in 10 days, then it's doctor time. Coddle yourself, the animals will take care of themselves. Lots and lots of love.

  15. Take care and rest. I hope someone can come care for the animals. I know how that goes though. Once did chores with a 104 fever. I felt like someone was attacking my head with an ax. But....the animals got fed. What we don't do for those sweet critters.

  16. Just got over the same crappy stuff. It's kind of a "grin and bear it" flu. I'm sorry you caught it.

Awww Nancy, drink LOTS & sleep lots like you're doing. Sounds like the flu, all right. I will say prayers for your quick recovery. Keep us posted if you have the energy. You'll need to do a "relazi" when this is all done, as you sound like to really rest is rather challenging right now. Congrats to Corrine--that was a halarious definition and word and USEFUL, too!

Take care, Terry who just got back from up north
