i am being well cared for...
and lovef...

I'm teasing! That's a good sign, right?
I am getting a little better each day and the pain is finally reaching a more bearable level. Of course I am now on the maximum dose of oxycoden. I will see my surgeon next tuesday to check on how the prosthetic and my arm are getting along. I can't use my left hand or arm for ANYTHING until the doctor gives me the go-ahead. I am SO grateful for all of the help and support (both physically and emotionally. I still need 24 hour care and if it wasn't for the selfless love of my daughter, Pam, and my baby sister, Penny, who have taken numerous days off work to be at my side. I am also grateful for the dear friends who are 'taking shifts' or 'having slumber parties' at Nancy's house this weekend and until the doctor gives the OK for me to be alone, so that I can stay in my home during this difficult part of my recovery. I can't go out by the sheep but as you can see in the photos, my dogs and cats are a great comfrt to me...
DREAM says...
"I sure hope you're better in time for lambing, Mom. Pam told me she doesn't know the first thing about helping a sheep have a baby! I told pam that we pretty well know what to do and take care of things ourselves anyway"
"Since there wasn't any interesting SHEEPY NEWS in the blog (again!) today, you might as well hop on over to Verde Farms, "FARM FRIENDS FRIDAY" event. Heck! I'm so bored that I may go check things out!
"Oh yes, that's right. I cant't go any where. Mom needs me to hang around and be in charge of things!"
OH Nancy, I didn’t know you were down. What on earth happened? I will go back and read up to find out. I sure hope you are feeling better fast. I think you will enjoy my post today-maybe that will brighten your day :)
ReplyDeleteHugs, Amy
helloo... well i was thinking if you are really really bored... you can come over and check out my blog...???
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
Thanks!
Leontien
And you think the pain is what keeps you from sleeping more than an hour or so???!! ;) Im glad you're teasing again, and starting to feel better. Yay modern drugs! (Doesnt it just make you tremble thinking what people did before prescription pain killers???!) Love you tons, have a fun weekend with Cory :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you look so protected! They look like they are very concerned!!
ReplyDeleteNancy, I'm wondering if that's some sort of ancient healing circle that your crew is forming around you in an effort to get you back on your feet? Okay, maybe you and your bed are just very comfy! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have all those friends that care about you (and the humans to help take care of you). Hoping everything goes well for you.
ReplyDeleteNanny blessings for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteWell look at you! I'm sure there are some folks who would change places with you if they didn't have to break an arm to get there. You look mighty comfortable. I'm sure the heavy meds help.
ReplyDeleteI love all the moral support from your animals. There's nothing more wonderful than a purr or a wet nose to make you feel better.
Take care and heal....
I just 'met' you through FFF. I'm so sorry that you broke your arm and then had to have surgery. I love your spunk! I find it so sweet that your pets are keeping you company... especially the cat, sleeping ON you! How sweet.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better (without meds) soon!
So glad to hear you are on the mend, take care of yourself.
ReplyDeletecrombiekatie, before prescription painkillers, they used opium (laudanum.)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're slowly on the mend, Nancy. I see you're being kept in bed. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd go crazy if I couldn't use one of my arms!
It's good to know you have lots of wonderful help!
Continue getting well! ♥
I am bring the Kris Kristoferson cd,a bottle of whiskey, long underwear and some food. Anything else we need?
ReplyDeleteLove ya and see you soon.

You look very cosy tucked up in bed with your animal friends all around you. I'm still thinking about you and hoping for a speedy recovery dear Nancy.

Gotta love a couple good therapy dogs and cats :-).
ReplyDeleteYour wonderful critter crew! I am sure they are sending you all sorts of positive healing vibes while they stay by your side. They have that special ability, you know. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSending well wishes for a speedy recovery. Although, you may want to drag it out a bit so you get more time with Cory.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope the pain gets less every day, and quickly, too. LOLing over your cat on your hip - that is also Emma's favorite place to sleep! She also walks on my keyboard - maybe your kitty could type for you?
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and warm hugs from Emma and me.

Nancy - I feel for you. I fell several years ago and did a number on my elbow and shoulder - although not broken - it was painful.
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived closer so that I could come and help out, but I am so glad that you have family and close friends to help you out.
I will be thinking of you - get better quick.
Die Tiere werden dir helfen wieder gesund zu werden!
ReplyDeleteHerzliche Grüße und alles Gute
