"A Shepherd's Voice".

Introducing..."ALICE"!

You may be wondering why I would be introducing  Alice?

Seeing as most of you met her LONG ago....

Well, I ain't dead yet!

Which, after the week I've just had, is somewhat of a surprise.

OK.  Maybe I'm exaggerating a  tiny bit, but I was one, SICK Shepherdess!

Yesterday, I actually got out and sat with my critters!

And that was only partially because once I got out there, I had to sit down or I felt like I would pass out.

Everyone came up to check on me when I sat down next to the Calf Hut.

A couple of the girls seemed to have their 'noses a bit out of joint' over my long absence:

Let's just say that I'm a tad nervous over a budding friendship that seems to be developing.

I was slouched against   leaning against the calf hut and looked up to see...

She was enjoying her perch above the rest of the animals.

Snuggling with my girls is JUST what the doctor ordered!

Although...

 "Get those PIGGLES out of here!  We're not sharing Mom today!!"

"Let's go Piggles, Dream says you can visit with Mom some other time..."

Poor Piggles!

We won't mention how much Kiss really loves to chase them!

DREAM says...

"Welcome baaaaaaaaaack Mom!"

"I missed ewe!"

I missed you too, Dreamer.  In fact, I missed ALL my girls.

Even the Piggles!

I'm sick. VERY sick.

I  want to let everyone know why I've gone quiet over here in the Bluff Country.

It seems I've caught some kind of 'bug'.  It has totally wiped me out.  So much so that I couldn't even drag myself out to feed my animals on Friday.  I spent the whole day in bed yesterday too and am very dizzy when I do get up.  I was so worried about all my animals that I forced myself to feed the sheep & pigs yesterday afternoon.  Unfortunately, I was so weak and dizzy and I almost passed out, so the chickens did not get fed, once again. 

Everything hurts.  My head feels like it's going to explode and when I cough, it's as if someone smashes a sledge hammer into my head.  My neck, shoulders, arms, ribs, back, hips and legs.  Although I sleep all day and night, it is not a restful sleep because I roll over to change positions every five minutes.  Of course it hurts when I roll over, so it wakes me up...

I figure I've got to start feeling better soon.  I'm hoping my sister can come out today to feed and water all the animals.   Please don't tell me to go to the doctor.

I'm too SICK to go to the doctor...

I understand that everyone was excited to learn who the winner of the "Word Contest" was, but even I was surprised.

My poor dogs were pis  ah-HUM!, heartbroken.

They couldn't believe that no one commented on their pretty pictures.

Not one, single, solitary person!

They were very upset.

Especially Sable...

She was feeling pretty unappreciated!

Sable doesn't like to feel unappreciated!

At ALL!!!

DREAM says...

"Don't listen to Mom!  She's just pullin' your leg.

Besides, what have those stupid dogs got to complain about?

There wasn't even a single picture of ME on yesterday's post!"

Actually, Dream's right.  All those pictures of Sable were taken when I was trying to get her to "smile" on cue.  When ever I scold her, Sable "smiles".  Those of you who have smiley dogs, know what this means.  They wrinkle their noses and pull their top lip up, exposing their teeth.  It is SO cute!  And Sable does it all of the time.  Except when I want her to do it.

Oh well.
