Shetland sheep have changed my life and touched my heart. They have brought me joy, adventure and serenity. Follow along as I live each day influenced by memories of my mighty flock of mini sheep ~ aided and abetted by "Bellamica", the English Shepherd,"Sable", my livestock guardian dog and "Hero" the rescue dog that stole my heart! You'll also meet many of the homeless dogs that I rescue and rehome as part of Bluff Country Canine Rescue.

I Just Can't Understand....
Why Zodiak and Bella Luna don't hurry up and have their babies!
One would think they'd be anxious to join the fun....
Maybe you could go out there and squeeze them extra hard. It looks like three of my ewes will be lambing for sure. It is so much easier to tell what is happening since they have been shorn.
Don't ask me about ewes who won't lamb! Rebecca is still wandering about stuffing herself with food and showing no intention at all of producing anything small and woolly! The others finished two weeks ago!
If you squint your eyes and look at the photo....weelll, those pregant ewes at a quick glance just might pass as being buffalo....nah! But sheesh, they are both getting big! Diane L./Bloomington,IN.
Those two girls are so content with the peace and quiet of having that big, lush pasture all to themselves with no competition for food, no one bossing them around, no fighting for the best sleeping spot...they may just never have those lambs!

ReplyDeleteI don't know but it looks so peaceful and quiet with all that green grass. I think they have something good where they are now!

Hi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteAll the lambs are getting so big! Might be nice to have some really little ones again!!! Sooner or later....perhaps with this change in weather.
