Shetland sheep have changed my life and touched my heart. They have brought me joy, adventure and serenity. Follow along as I live each day influenced by memories of my mighty flock of mini sheep ~ aided and abetted by "Bellamica", the English Shepherd,"Sable", my livestock guardian dog and "Hero" the rescue dog that stole my heart! You'll also meet many of the homeless dogs that I rescue and rehome as part of Bluff Country Canine Rescue.

It Was A SHEEPY Kind of Morning...
One of those lazy, semi-foggy mornings that just lure one out to sit with the sheep!
DREAM says...
"I know you're sucking up to me but that's OK. You can go play with your chickens now..."
I am so glad we did get a chance to see each other at WSWF. Maybe next year we can plan a Friday night meal together with all of our sheepy and fibery firends.
Oh my goodness, I remember those mornings, and it honestly calms my heart. As usual you captured the moment beautifully. My mornings now consist of rushed dog walks at 5am and heading off to Morning PT, running and doing push ups until the sun finally comes up. Please keep the pictures coming!
What a gorgeous photo that is - I'm thinking of that photo of 'shine', and realizing that you are really becoming quite the accomplished photographer, you Artiste, you!
Um, one of our Adventure Chickens got into a fleece I had sitting out on a sheet yesterday. The free "picking" would have been nice except she picked it all out onto the rock dust in the barn aisle. Chickens...I'm sticking with Dream.
Love Destiny!!! She's really, really pretty! I'm looking forward to lambs next Spring out of my black ram from Shula....a Dream grandson? Can't remember off the top of my head, but definately YOUR bloodlines. His fleece is gorgeous and what a sweet temperment! Enjoy your blog!
I heard you left the WI Sheep & Wool Festival so you could come home to be with your chickens.
ReplyDeleteLOL, who is that in the first photo? I think I'm in love.
ReplyDeleteWARNING: Joanna is a troublemaker!!!
ReplyDelete;-)
The lovely Shaela ewe in the first photo is Alice's daughter "Destiny". I love her regal elegance. She is, however, a snob!
Beautiful photo of Destiny! That should certainly be a calandar shot!
