Guess What I Did Today....

Meet my two, newest girls! They are 8 week old, Buff Orpington pullets and I love them already! I spent the evening building them a chicken coop! A REAL chicken coop. My honey helped me. When I get time, I'll post more pictures. I'm picking up a couple of "Easter Eggers" tomorrow evening! I've got to go to bed now because I work tomorrow morning...

Have a great weekend!!!

We have one of those in our flock, and she is the mellowest, nicest girl...good choice!

  2. Oh, pretty girls! I've never had those, but love-love-love my Easter Eggers. Your "honey"? Your "HONEY"? Honey, why haven't we heard much about this "honey"??? ;-)

(Would still like to be able to click a box that have your replies emailed to me; I might MISS something!)

  3. Oh, Buff Orpingtons are my favourites! How gorgeous. They're such round comfortable looking hens. I hope you really enjoy them :o)

  4. Oh those are two of my favorite breeds. You'll love them. Completely care free compared to some of the other breeds.

  5. I'm so excited to be getting 'back into' chickens. We have Katie to thank ~ she was quite insistent that Luca needed more female companionship! ;-)

Michelle ~ I'm trying to set it up so you can have comment responses mailed to you but can't figure out how! I see the option of having all comments mailed to email address but not just replies to comments that someone leaves.... Any suggestions?

  7. They are beautiful. The only two laying chicks that survived my DOG were Buffs. So smart little buggers too I'd guess. Congrats. In my reorder from the hatchery ordered Easter Eggers too!

  8. Lovely point of lay hens, looking so pretty. I'm very jealous. I kept chickens for ten years from 1990 til 2000, but then the hen house needed replacing and I couldn't quite afford it. One day I will get back to it. Meanwhile, I will enjoy yours, if I may? Please keep the stories coming.
    Blessings, Star

  9. Of course you're welcome to live vicariously through my chickens, Star! In fact, I'm so honored that I'll NAME one of the Easter Eggers that I'm going to pick up this evening "STAR"....
