Introducing STAR and ELVIRA...

This is STAR

Is this not the most adorable chicken face you've ever seen?

I think she looks like a hawk!

She's an itty-bitty thing though! Born Easter weekend.

After a shaky start, Star and Opera have become friends.

This is Elvira. I love her long, black "hair".

Yes, the girls use my sheep 'fitting stand' as a roost.

They LIKE it!
;-)

GOLDILOCKS (Nick's hen) says...

"I wasn't too sure at first, but I guess they can stay!"

Thank you, Goldi! And I'm thinkn' four is probably enough...

"We'll see about that!"

  1. They are very pretty! This makes me want to get some chickens again. Surely that would be easier than another dog?

  5. They're both lovely. I'm a big fan of my easter eggers and buff orpingtons. In fact I'm a big fan of the chickens in general now.

  8. Aw they really are pretty! Im so happy for luca :). And, eggs (mostly whites, a yolk here or there...) are good for you! I can't imagine how noisy its been in the valley lately! Although, maybe with the girls in such close proximity, the loud crowing has lost a few decibals???

Elvira's coloring would make a great yarn colorway.

  11. Hmmm, NICK's hen... is that the mystery man?
Love your birds, love mine that look just like yours! Congratulations. Here's my best wintertime hint, just discovered: heated dog water bowl. 'Course maybe you already thought of that.

  12. Katie ~ I promised one of my Blog readers that I was going to name one of the chickens after her because I like her name ~ that's "Star". Elivira just struck me as being "Elvira" because of her black head. Wasn't there an Elvira who was a witch or something like that???

Gail ~ he he he.....Nick is my youngest Grandson.
