*I bet THAT title will pull a few hits from the search engines!*
My Beautiful Baby Girl wanted me to post more pictures of HER beautiful rooster. So, Here he is...
I can't blame her ~ he really is a handsome boy.
Luca crows. A LOT. Katie thinks he needs a girlfriend.
I only have 3 chickens.
I suppose I should say that I have two roosters and one hen.
An apparently OLD hen. (no eggs)
Maybe Katie's right. I guess I'm in the market for a couple of young hens!
Where does one buy 2 or 3 young chickens????
Try going to www.backyardchickens.com. They have a buy/sell/trade section in the forum. You can get pretty much anything your heart desires.
ReplyDeleteHe sure is a handsome boy. I love his hairdo.
He is a handsome boy! I would love to say beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou can also look on craigslist for chickens, I see them quite often on there.
Nancy, your photos are absolutely wonderful. I wish I could take pictures like that.
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful roo! I agree - Craig's List often has chickens. If you were closer, I'd just bring you a few! I could trade you a whole barnyard full for a sheep! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you want? Do you want more crosses? Or purebreds? If you want more crosses, I can hook ya up ;-) I just had a cubalaya cross hatch 12, and a SUPER cute little bantam americana hatch 10, and have two little cochinxold english hens on eggs. Plus god knows who else on eggs, tis that time of year! :)
ReplyDeleteI am no good at recommending where to get chickens, but I am great at appreciating your photos, Nancy. I see humor in those photos-esp. the one of the OLD HEN/Rooster looking at each other. The rooster is thinking, "She's too old for me...." The old hen is saying, "Darn right, buster! Get lost."
ReplyDeleteDiane L./Bloomington,IN.
YAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I were a hen I'd go for Luca - he's gorgeous! He should be on the cover of Playhen magazine.
ReplyDeleteNancy in Atlanta
Mom L is hilarious! But I agree with her point, any self-respecting hen should consider herself lucky to cluck with Luca. :) ( I feel a little like a chicken-pimp here though, that's not good at ALL!) Anyway, I just thought I'd bring it up: since chickens are so prevalent on Craig's list, have you ever tried advertising sheep there?
