How did I get so lucky?

I'm pretty sure that my Beautiful Baby Girl won't mind if I share this with you.   It's a copy of an email that she sent me this evening, in response to one I'd written to her.  I have just got to say, I have the three most wonderful children that any mother could wish for.  All three have stood by me and supported me and loved me ~ no matter how badly, at times, it seemed I had messed up my life.  They are my best Friends.  I am truly blessed...

I'm not letting myself worry, I have so much faith in you!  And I am really happy with how busy you are, not for the money aspect,  but it's just a nice feeling to be tired at the end of the day because you've been so productive, and I'm sure you're getting that!   And if you have to be working hard,  I  SOO MUCH prefer you working long hard hours AT HOME, than in some cube where people don't show you the respect you deserve.  You have ALL my respect mom,  what an amazing roll model.     Go get em     :)

Love Katie

This, from the girl, who in 2001,  on the drive down to the University of Wisconsin, in Madison;  on our way to Freshman orientation/parent weekend, said:  "Mom, please don't tell anyone you raise sheep."

That sounds like a daughter growing up and realzing that it does not matter what you do, as long as you do it well.

  4. Everybody's perception of success is different I suppose. I would be very proud if my parent raised sheep. It's something I would have loved to do given the opportunity. Living in a town all my life has taken away my dreams of farming in its different forms. However, I can enjoy that life through yours so I'm not complaining and I did keep chickens once too.

  5. I had a similar aha moment with my 23 yr old son about 2 yrs after he moved away from home. It warms the heart to know your children not only love you, but they like you too. What a lovely daughter you must have in Katie!
