Shetland sheep have changed my life and touched my heart. They have brought me joy, adventure and serenity. Follow along as I live each day influenced by memories of my mighty flock of mini sheep ~ aided and abetted by "Bellamica", the English Shepherd,"Sable", my livestock guardian dog and "Hero" the rescue dog that stole my heart! You'll also meet many of the homeless dogs that I rescue and rehome as part of Bluff Country Canine Rescue.
I wish you were home to enjoy the snow, Katie! The truth is, I don't think you would enjoy it too much. As pretty as it is ~ and it's a gloriously bright and sunny day ~ it is BITTERLY cold outside. The winds are whipping like crazy and the will chills are around twenty below...
If you'd like to come home and take fresh water out to the chickens, I'd be fine with that....
Nancy, your pictures really remind me of Christmas cards--They are just lovely!!! This is also how I like to enjoy the snow--From someone else's view! :-)))
Why does it seem that Dream would not go out in the cold? It is strange that the sheep can seem warm and cold at the same time. But they do look quite happy in the snow. :)
Dream WOULD go out in the cold. But she CAN'T get out because I've got her and Dazzle shut in the big barn with Echo for breeding season. Dream is NOT very happy about it either...
Oh, wow! Your snow makes mine look puny!!! It is just 12 degrees here, but the big winds from yesterday calmed down - for now. Bella makes my adventurous Emma look like a wuss - she does NOT like to step in snow! Looks like the doggies enjoy it, too.
That is a LOT of snow. I hope your sheep don't get caught in a drift. I know about chickens in the snow. Mine were afraid of it to start with, but soon got used to it. I remember having to go out and give them water and food. Brrrr Lovely photos as always. Keep warm! Blessings, Star
Seems Dream isn't complaining so much this morning.
ReplyDeleteHere in Michigan we haven't got the snow...yet. Yesterdays rain however left us with mud mud mud.

It's a regular WHITE OUT! Glad you survived the storm. Great photos of the kids enjoying a snow day. Stay warm over there on your end of the state.
ReplyDeleteI simply adore your snowy sheep shots and I'm also very fond of the blog background. Where on earth did you find it?
