Shetland sheep have changed my life and touched my heart. They have brought me joy, adventure and serenity. Follow along as I live each day influenced by memories of my mighty flock of mini sheep ~ aided and abetted by "Bellamica", the English Shepherd,"Sable", my livestock guardian dog and "Hero" the rescue dog that stole my heart! You'll also meet many of the homeless dogs that I rescue and rehome as part of Bluff Country Canine Rescue.

We Interrupt the "Parade of Rams" to bring you this BABY CHICK UPDATE...
First of all, I just HAVE to show you this...
Take a closer look. Do you see the baby chick peaking out from under Madonna's wing? How cute is THAT??????
I remember getting scared once that something had eaten my three newly hatched chicks....they were just tucked away in Moms feathers. :) That is the greatest photo!
I would be so worried about little chicks becoming coyote, hawk, eagle,______, fidder around here. My hat's off to you for being able to have them outside,gal...
We're so lucky to have enough moisture that the marsh grasses have grown to about 4' high. Our wild ducks have been able to raise families this year and not have them eaten by the coyotes as they were last year. It broke my heart to watch that happen. One pair had 9 ducklings make it so far.
Bless! I hope we can keep hens sometime soon. They're so sweet.

Great pictures! I can't believe how close up and posed they look! Madonna looks so absolutely pleased with life.
