Baby, it's COLD outside!

Princess and Kiss are in the paddock by my backyard.
They have the calf hut for shelter.

They seem to appreciate having the calf hut for shelter!

There are snow drifts four feet deep between me and these girls!

Fortunately, the wind cleared a little opening, right in front of the door to the hut.

Sable goes out to check on them when I go out to feed and water.

She so wants to play with her friends and doesn't understand why they won't leave their calf hut!

But Princess and Kiss are not about to brave those snow drifts.

I can't say that I blame them!

Yes, I DO crawl through the drifts to put hay and water in the calf hut for the poor babies...

DREAM says...

"Awwww!  Poor  Mom!  There aren't any snow drifts in HERE!"
       " te he he h e he..."

    Nancy,

You have the hardiest animals ever, and you, too, to go out there and feed/water them. The cats win for hardiness, however! I just got my wuss cats new fluffy beds because I was worried they'd get cold in the HOUSE--heard a few kitty sneezes.

Snow photos of sheep are gorgeous!

  3. WOW!! You do have snow, good thing the girls have such nice thick wool coats, it used to upset me when we had angora goats and they loved to lay out in the snow rather then go into the barn but I guess their mohair coats were really warm. Great pictures!!

  4. Sheep never cease to amaze me with the way they handle snow! Carrying water around in the winter is the total pits:( Love all of your recent snow photos!

  7. So that's Minnesota snow! No wonder Bob Dylan froze to the bone! or was that in New York? I can't quite remember. Don't get buried in the snow drift Nancy.

I'm sure your animals love you for taking care of them.

Your dog Sable has a face just like one of my dogs, Jacko. he was a cross collie/Alsation. What is Sable?
    Blessings, Star
